Tarmac is generally considered the most cost-effective method for laying a hard surface. However, it is a time-consuming job that requires specialist tools, machinery, and expertise. This means that it only becomes the cheapest option once the driveway reaches a suitable size, where economies of scale come into play.
Once laid, tarmac driveways can look very attractive and can last for many years with minimal maintenance. The most popular standard colours are black and red tarmac, though other colours are also available.
